What's the truth about Angels? Angels are mentioned from Genesis to Revelation 273 times. Do you sometimes feel you are fighting alone? There are many stories about angels in the bible but my favorite scripture tells us that the Lord gives His angels orders concerning us (Ps. 91:11). This truth means that not only are we covered by the blood of Jesus and indwelled by the Holy Spirit, but we have angels guarding and protecting us! Yesterday I heard a sermon about angels that mentioned a story of a bible smuggler. It seems this one man worked alone and somehow continued to get through certain check-points with bibles. His organization asked how he did it. He said he didn’t know but one day there was an opportunity to ask. The checkpoint attendees shared that they let him by because they didn’t want any trouble with the “three huge guys that are always with you.” But ... he always crossed alone! Another story was of a young woman who recently attended a rock concert and had a back stage pass. After the concert she took her pass and went to the place to be allowed in. The woman at the door said “You can’t come in.” She protested “Why?” The answer, “Because you are a Christian.” “NO!” she exclaimed. “That’s my parents, not me!! I paid for my pass and I want to come in!” “No, you can’t come in”, the door woman persisted. “WHY? I have a pass!” Finally, the door woman shared “I am a witch and there are two big angels with you so I can’t let you in here.” Wow! Any parents out there feel encouraged? Did you catch that “her parents” were the Christians? No doubt they were praying parents! And based on their prayers, could it be that God gave angels orders concerning their daughter’s protection? I think so! We are NOT alone! Keep up the good fight. You have partners co-laboring with you. You may have your own angel stories. I do! I KNOW that my son’s life was protected by an angel during an accident when he was a baby. The hospital was scurrying to get him downtown with a serious head injury, but miraculously, instead, we were driving home within a few hours. The doctors were baffled. And when I turned to the backseat to commend his older brother for snuggling up next to me while I was on the floor praying as the doctors tended to his little brother, he said “Mom I was sitting in the chair the whole time.” Wow! Angels that snuggle! ( ; I hope this encouraged you! Love, Kara Need more? Do a search of the word angel on your favorite bible app and enjoy!
